VACANZE SICILIANE: DOLCE & GABBANA AND THE RETURN OF SUMMER EXCESS

Dolce & Gabbana reminds us that summer style should not apologise for the body.

Some fashion shows whisper.

Dolce & Gabbana rarely does.

For Summer 2027, the house returned to one of its deepest sources of mythology: Sicily. The collection, titled Vacanze Siciliane, felt like a postcard left in the sun — bleached linen, open skin, lemon graphics, religious iconography, decorated denim, white cotton, black tailoring and the constant presence of the body beneath it all.

It was not minimal.

It was not quiet.

But it understood something MUSKULINE has always observed: men dress differently when heat enters the room.

THE BODY RETURNS

Menswear has spent years hiding behind oversized shapes, technical fabrics and irony.

This show brought the body back.

Not as gymwear. Not as performance. As part of the silhouette.

Vests.Open shirts.Shorter shorts.Perforated tailoring.Denim treated almost like jewellery.

The clothes did not pretend the body was irrelevant. They framed it. Exposed it. Styled around it.

That feels important.

Because masculine style is not only about what is worn. It is about what is revealed, what is suggested, and what is held back.

SICILY AS A MOOD

Sicily in Dolce & Gabbana is never just a place.

It is a language.

Black and white.Heat and religion.Family and theatre.Ceremony and seduction.A man stepping out into the evening knowing exactly how he looks.

The show leaned into that world. At times excessive, at times almost cinematic, always committed.

There is confidence in that.

WHAT MUSKULINE TAKES FROM IT

Not the logos. Not the maximalism. Not the costume.

The lesson is simpler:

Summer style needs attitude.

A white vest can be enough.A pair of dark trousers can be enough.A shirt worn open can be enough. But only if the man wearing it understands the gesture.

Style is never just product.

It is posture.Heat.Timing.Restraint.Exposure.

Dolce & Gabbana gave us a reminder: the male summer wardrobe works best when it understands the body.
